Cameras use converging lenses in their view finder in order to be able to have a large range of view when looking through it. The lens of the view finder is curved in order to bend light from all directions into one, this allows you to increase the field of vision you are able to see. Also, when focusing the lens you change the focal point distance which allows you to focus objects that are close or objects that are far. A camera took this picture which involved all of these process.

physics has taught me why my bling bling sparkles so much whenever light hits it. The angle of the diamond is cut so it enables the light to totally reflect. This angle would be approximately 24.4ยบ. The diamond cutter has to cut the diamond exactly so the light hits the critical angle twice so that the light will be reflected back at you which makes it all sparkly and cool looking.

On Friday i went to aloha bash at UH to watch a katchafire, rebel souljahz and some other bands play. On the stage there were a bunch of different colored lights that were flashing on and off at the performers. I saw different combinations of them to create different colors. At one point a green and red light turned on at the performers and it turned their shirts yellow. There was also people smoking in the crowed and you could see the smoke change color as it rose through the air.

Jammin Hawaiians

This weekend i felt like being hawaiian (i joke) so i decided to go the jammin hawaiians concert. while i was running to go watch people fight i experienced the affect of having two speakers playing. each speaker sends waves out, and when a trough and a crest of a sound wave meet, they slightly cancel each other out. this caused the intensity of the sound to decrease so it was harder for to skank to the music. my camera was stolen at the thing so i don't really have any pictures.

Transformers are cool because they allow my house to receive a smaller voltage. If it weren't for transformers my houses electric appliances would explode because of the high voltage and i would become a very sad person. The transformer consists of two coils of wire, one primary and one secondary. The primary has more coils and more voltage which creates a magnetic field that creates a flux in the other coil which has less coils.

I was having a dance party in my car today and out of no where i thought to myself, "there must be physics involved in this dance party". i then realized that the speakers (which are a must have in a dance party) use magnets and electromagnets in order to create the sound. The electromagnet switches between positive and negative which creates a repulsion between the electromagnet and the magnet. This repulsion causes the air between them to vibrate and create sound. So i am very grateful to magnets because without them there would be no more dance parties, and i would be very sad.

I never really thought there was any physics involved in turning on a flash light. But physics is actually the reason why there is a light produced by the flash light. When you move the switch up you complete the circuit which allows the electrons to flow. When the electrons get to the actual light filament they go through a coiled wire which has a high amount of resistance, which causes the wire to glow and produce the light. I am kind of interested to see filament of a search light because it produces such a strong beam of light and how it may different from just a normal light bulb.
