Physics and Football

Last night I went to go watch UH defeat UW to become the only college team to win all their games during their season. Physics plays an important role in all the aspects of physics. Throwing, catching, tackling, etc.. involves all concepts of kinematics, momentum, energy, and centripetal acceleration/force. When CB throws the ball, the distance the ball will travel and where it will land can be solved by kinematics. When a one of the defensive players tried to tackle Rankin, and he just continued plowing through the defense involves momentum. The rotation of the football when it thrown and how many times it rotates can be found through centripetal force (even though no one really cares about how many times the football spins in a circle).
